What is Roex Collagen II Plus:
Load up on the ingredients you love with these powerhouse ingredients that provide glowing wellness benefits.
Collagen, like many things in life, can deteriorate with aging. Collagen II Plus is rich in amino acids, glucosamine, chondroitin, and hyaluronic acid, making it possible to aid joint support. Roex Collagen II plus® is formulated by a low-heat process that leaves natural structures beneficial for optimal joint support intact.
It promotes skin elasticity and firmness, supports joints, and helps maintain cartilage. Roex® opted to use chicken collagen because studies show that the avian variety is much more compatible with human physiology and has more positive results.
Roex formulated its Collagen II Plus to provide the maximum level of nutritional support required by the body to properly maintain ongoing joint health. If you’re looking for joint support and are experiencing joint pain, you’ll want to include Roex Collagen II Plus as part of your daily regimen.

Other Roex Products That Work Well With Natural Collagen II Plus:
Roex Collagen II Plus delivers the healthy benefits of Biocell Chicken Sternum Collagen Type II. This unique form of collagen facilitates maximum absorption as the integrity of the long-chain amino acids and molecular structure of the collagen are better preserved during processing.
What is Natural Collagen II:
Most collagen is denatured (altered) using a high-heat process that can break down its structure and diminish its potential benefits. Roex® uses a low-heat process that leaves natural structures intact. Similarly, Natural Collagen II is not treated with hydrogen peroxide, acids, bases or enzymes, since these treatments also alter the collagen’s structure and may diminish its benefits. Keeping the long chains of amino acids that form the collagen intact allows for optimal nutritional benefit.
Chicken Sternal Collagen Type II:
Roex opted to use chicken collagen because studies show that the avian variety is much more compatible with human physiology and has more positive results than similar studies using bovine Type II. Further, the chicken sternal collagen type II selected by Roex has protein content ranging between 55 and 65 percent for polypeptides and between 35 and 45 percent for mucopolysaccarides, levels unattainable in other Type II sources.
What are the benefits of Roex Collagen II:
Roex Collagen II Plus promotes skin elasticity and firmness, supports joints and helps maintain cartilage.
Who should take Natural Collagen II:
If you’re looking for a natural joint support and are experiencing joint pain, you’ll want to include Roex Natural Collagen II Plus as part of your daily regimen.
Why Use Unhydrolyzed, Low-Heat Denatures Type II Collagen:
When supplementing with Type II Collagen, the options vary from hydrolyzed or unhydrolyzed; denatured or undenatured; and chicken or bovine forms. Roex chose to use unhydrolyzed, low-heat denatured, chicken collagen in the formula.
- Hydrolysis: Refers to a chemical reaction that occurs resulting in the formation of one or more new compounds. Thus, hydrolyzed collagen is a modified form of collagen.
- Undenatured collagen: Raw collagen requires manufacturers to soak it in a bath of hydrogen peroxide, process it, and then sterilize it. The FDA states that dosages in excess of 10mg of undenatured collagen cannot be sold in a supplement form due to the affects it can have on the auto-immune system.
- High-heat denatured: Unlike the collagen you’ll get from Roex, most collagen is denatured using a high-heat process. This high heat can result in a loss of structure; the triple-helix DNA strand unwinds and the chains separate. When this denatured mass of tangled chains cools down, it soaks up the surrounding water like a sponge, forming gelatin.
- Bovine Collagen Type II: Sourced from bovine trachea and, although similar in biological makeup, has yielded limited benefits in many comparative studies.
Roex formulated its Collagen II Plus to provide the correct level of nutritional support required by the body to properly maintain ongoing joint health. Roex® opted to use chicken collagen versus bovine collagen because studies show a greater consistency of positive results than similar studies using bovine Type II. Furthermore, the chicken sternal collagen type II selected by Roex has a protein content of collagen between 55-65% polypeptides and 35-45% mucopolysaccarides. These consist of: 15-17% glucosamine, 14-16% chondroitin and 16-17% hyaluronic acid. These levels would be near impossible to duplicate in other Type II sources.
The choice to use unhydrolyzed, low-heat denatured collagen was also clear. The Type II used in the Roex® formula is dried for an extended time under low temperature. This process ensures the products safety while maintaining its natural molecular weight structure and the integrity of its delicate molecules. Unlike undenatured or high-heat denaturing, Natural Collagen II Plus™ is not treated with hydrogen peroxide, acids, bases or enzymes to alter its structure or break down its molecules. This process keeps the long chains of amino acids (that form the collagen) intact, allowing the natural enzymes in the body to recognize the precise genetic code. This increases the body’s ability to assimilate and use the collagen in order to provide the maximum benefit for joint health.
Collagen, like many things in life, can deteriorate with aging. As the collagen in the joints deteriorate, the concentration of HA in the synovial fluid (lubricating fluid) decreases. Without the proper nutritional and dietary support, the continuous breakdown of cartilage can lead to wear and tear of our joints. Natural Collagen II Plus™ is a valuable source of Type II Collagen, hyaluronic acid and chondroitin sulfate A, that can provide key nutritional benefits to individuals concerned with maintaining joint health.
